Continuing Professional Development Certificate in Trauma-Informed Practice in Education (Level 9 Special Purpose Award, 15 Credits)


University College Cork, in collaboration with Dublin West Education Centre (DWEC) in Tallaght, are delighted to announce the launch of an outreach hybrid delivery of the new programme Continuing Professional Development Certificate in Trauma-informed Practice in Education. 

This new programme was developed in collaboration with the School of Education at University College Cork and specifically targets educators: early years professionals, primary and secondary school teachers. The programme aims to support educators who are seeking to develop their capacity to practice trauma-informed care in their professional role. The programme is a NFQ level 9 Special Purpose Award. The fee for the programme is €1,125.

The programme will run for the first time through an outreach hybrid delivery in the Dublin West Education Centre as follows: 

Live lectures will take place for two hours (5 - 7 pm) on consecutive Tuesday evenings during the 12-week January-March/April 2023 semester beginning on 9th January 2023 until 3rd April. [Mid-Term//Research & Writing Week – Week of 13th  February 2023 (no lectures)] as follows: 

  • 10th  and 17th January 2023- online
  • 24th and 31st January - DWEC
  • 7th February 2023- online

School Mid-term break - Reading Week

  • 21st and 28th  February - DWEC
  • 7th March 2023 -online
  • 14th March 2023- DWEC
  • 21st  March 2023- online
  • 28th  March 2023- DWEC
  • 4th April 2023 – online
