Teachers, make Maths class the best part of your teaching day!

This PDST Summer course will greatly enhance your teaching and pupils’ learning experiences in the classroom.  This hands-on approach to mathematics teaching will equip participants with practical and stimulating maths ideas and resources for each class level from 1st – 6th.   The sessions feature hands-on experiences centred around talk and discussion. Opportunities for regular reflection are planned for to consider pupils’ understanding of maths concepts with problem solving as a core purpose of maths teaching and learning.  The sessions will cover the content areas of Measures, Fractions, Place-value, Shape and Space and Mental Maths strategies. There is a Problem-Solving focus interwoven throughout the week. Your pupils will be communicating, reasoning and problem solving with a new confidence in their abilities and an understanding that there are multiple strategies and solutions to real-life maths problems.
