Would you like to learn about children’s sensory needs?
Together with other teachers you will learn to understand more about the sensory systems and find solutions to sensory behaviours which may be causing stress at school. The workshops include practical strategies for sensory regulation to maximise learning.
Who should attend these workshops?
The workshops are aimed at teachers of children aged 3-12, with sensory processing difficulties which may be part of Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, ADHD, or other conditions.
About the Facilitators:
Inés graduated from the University of Salford (U.K.) in 1999 with a higher second-class honours degree in Occupational Therapy. She chose to specialize in the area of paediatrics in 2002 and has been working with children with learning, sensory, emotional and behavioural difficulties in different settings, for the past 18 years. She has a special interest in how sensory processing affects a child’s participation in functional (every-day) skills particularly within the education setting. She has recently completed a Masters in Children and Youth studies through the School of Education in UCD (2018).
Inés has written several books and products for children published through LDA: Max and Me: A Story about Sensory Processing, Dexter and Me: A Story about Motor Coordination, Sensory Shuffle, Target Ladders (Sensory Processing) and Start with Art all of which are aimed at primary school teachers.
