This series on Classroom Assessment is designed for primary and post-primary teachers and will be led by Dr Zita Lysaght and Prof Michael O'Leary from the Institute of Education, at Dublin City University.
4: Revisiting assessment issues arising from Sessions 1-3

Dr. Zita Lysaght is a member of the School of Policy and Practice at the Institute of Education (St. Patrick's Campus), DCU; she coordinates and teaches classroom assessment and research methodology modules on undergraduate, masters and doctoral programmes and coordinated the final year BEd4 and PME2 research projects over many years. She is Director of the Assessment for Teaching and Learning (ALT) Project, a member of the Advisory Board and Advisory Panel of the Center for Assessment Research and Policy in Education (CARPE) and a former Chair of Post-Graduate Studies by Research and Co-chair of the EdD programme.
Professor Michael O’Leary holds the Prometric Chair in Assessment and is Director of the Centre for Assessment Research, Policy and Practice in Education (CARPE) at the Institute of Education, DCU.
He was Ireland's representative on the OECD's Network A (student outcomes) and on the Board of Participating Countries of PISA during its first cycle. Between 2005 and 2007 he was a member of the NCCA working group that developed guidelines on assessment in Irish primary schools. Appointed Director of CARPE in 2016, he now leads an extensive programme of research focused on assessment and measurement at all levels of the educational system and in the workplace. In June 2020 he was appointed by the Minister for Education to the Independent Steering Committee on the implementation of Calculated Grades.
