CPD Event for PRIMARY Deputy Principals
"Conflict in Schools"
“Conflict is less elegantly handled in schools than in other organisations.” (Ruth, 2015)
This FACE-TO-FACEsession will explore sources of conflict within the school community. It will assist participants to recognise the emotional aspects of conflict and how to manage these.
It will refer to the work of Patricia Mannix-McNamara (“The Dark Side of School Culture”) showing the negative effects of conflict in schools and how teachers caught in a toxic culture have managed to survive and thrive.
It will explore the need for followers to support the leadership within the school.
