21KE808 Flipped Classroom - Session 2 - Post Primary

Flipped Classroom

The Flipped Classroom is a pedagogical approach in which traditional, class-based learning is inverted, so that students are introduced to learning material before class.  Classroom time is then used to deepen understanding through discussion with peers and problem-solving activities facilitated by teachers.

With a Flipped Classroom approach, students acquire knowledge before class and use class time to deepen learning and develop higher order cognitive skills. They will do so by practicing and applying concepts and ideas through interaction with classmates and their teacher.  After the class, students reflect further on feedback from peers and their teacher and use this to deepen their learning.

Session 2:

  • Understand the importance of effective content planning.
  • Create video content through various digital tools.
  • Consider how students engage with flipped content.
